Chocolate Peanut Butter Swirl Protein Bars

Makes 2 bars.
Serves: 2
  1. Mix whey protein and coconut flour.
  2. Add applesauce, and mix well. (Use the back of your spoon to press the ingredients together.)
  3. Using your hands, flatten the dough. Then spoon peanut butter on top.
  4. Fold and press the dough a few times so that the peanut butter gets swirled through the dough.
  5. Shape the dough into a rectangle by putting it on parchment paper, and folding the parchment up to help shape the dough.
  6. Refrigerate a few hours to set the dough.
  7. Cut into bars, and enjoy!
  8. Store wrapped in parchment, in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
A note about substitutions: Whey protein needs a dry ingredient like coconut flour in this recipe. To make dairy-free/vegan bars or to make this with casein, you'll need little to no coconut flour. For dairy-free/vegan bars, I would use a chocolate pea protein or pea blend like Warrior Blend or Vega Sport.
