I want to share with you my favorite non-protein smoothie. I call it my Watermelon Green Drink. It has 2 ingredients (+water): frozen watermelon cubes and a scoop of raw organic green powder.

Before starting a bodybuilding diet (and watching carbs more closely), I started every day with this smoothie. For a good 3 years! I really do love it! These days I make room for it on high-carb days.

If you’ve ever tried green juice or green smoothies, I’m sure you know how bitter the taste can be. Adding fruit can make the green taste much more reasonable, and even enjoyable!


When I tell people about this Watermelon Green Drink, I’m often asked why I don’t use fresh kale or other greens. “Why green powder?” is a common question. And I have 2 reasons.  1) It’s easier. No greens to wash or get wilty in my fridge. And 2) the list of ingredients in this is pretty impressive. There’s LOTS more in it than kale! If I’m out of watermelon, I use some frozen apple. But the watermelon is just delicious!
