Chocolate Chili Protein Balls

Sweet with a little heat, these chocolate chili protein balls are quick to prepare and make a great protein snack. Makes 6 protein balls.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened applesauce 28g
  • ½ chopped Thai chili pepper skin only, no seeds
  • ½ cup chocolate whey protein powder 60g
  • ¼ cup powdered peanut butter 28g

Instructions

  • Mix applesauce and chili pepper.
  • Add in whey protein. Mix well.
  • Add in peanut powder. Mix well, and form into 6 chews.
  • Enjoy! Store in the refrigerator.

Notes

A note about substitutions: because each type of protein powder has a distinct flavor and texture when baked, I would not try substituting different types of protein powders in this recipe. (See my Recipe Basics video for examples of what goes wrong when you use the wrong protein powder.)
