Strawberry Protein Popsicles are a refreshing, high protein snack with just 52 calories 7g protein each. This protein popsicles recipe uses vanilla protein powder, fresh or frozen strawberries, and water, with no added sugar.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup chopped strawberries (fresh or frozen, ~70g)
  • ½ cup vanilla protein powder (45g)
  • 1 cup water (240ml)

Use a smooth-blending vanilla protein powder. I used vanilla whey concentrate.

A whey/casein blend will also work for these protein powder popsicles.

With plant-based protein powder, the mouthfeel might be a bit too grainy and the texture too icy.

How to Make High Protein Popsicles

Step 1: Add chopped strawberries to popsicle molds. Space them out so they don't all settle at the bottom.

Step 2: Mix water and vanilla whey protein powder until smooth.

Step 3: Pour the mixture into the molds over the strawberries. Adjust strawberries to leave room for the popsicle sticks, if needed.

Step 4: Insert wooden sticks and freeze for several hours or overnight.

Step 5: To remove popsicles from the mold, it may help to immerse the mold in a bowl of room temperature water.

Step 6: Store popsicles in a ziplock bag, or wrap individually in plastic wrap for long-term freezing.

Flavor Variations

Any creamy protein shake would make a great protein popsicle! Try these delicious flavors and turn them into protein shake popsicles:

  • Peach Cobbler Protein Shake
  • Strawberry Chia Collagen Smoothie
  • Coconut Protein Shake
  • Tiramisu Protein Shake

*Because Naked Energy is carbonated, be sure to mix the whey in by hand (pour into a bowl, and mix with a whisk, fork, or immersion blender). Closed container blenders are not recommended with carbonated drinks.
